Finding The Woman I'm Meant To Be

Drive-Bye’s

I bet you’ve driven by
With her on the passenger side
And you didn’t see my lights
I wasn’t home those nights

I bet you call her my name
You’re the only one to blame
For the loss and the pain
I hope it drives you insane

I bet you’ll wish you had
When she picks you last
Love’s funny like that
Leaving you in the past

And I bet you’ll drive by
On your way home tonight
And it will eat you alive
Knowing I’m right.

Love And Lies

Random bobby-pins
My phone was on silent
Sorry I fell asleep
I don’t know who that is

I was in the hospital
A Wednesday wedding reception
Some of the lies you’ve told
You must think I’m stupid

Your childish smirk –
That grin is a tell
You think I don’t know
But I know too well

The funny thing is
You’ve been the fool
You actually believed
“I’m in love with you.”

Shadows In The Light

She knew
They were lies
She knew
The truth

She knew
She deserved more
But still
It was you

She knew
What it was
She knew
What it wasn’t

She saw
Everything in your eyes
She knew
She was nothing

She kept on
Giving her body
She kept on
Cold as stone

And she knew
When she walked away
You’d know
She was gone.

Breathing And Achieving

Share a smile
Shake a hand
Open your mind
Be understanding

Open a door
Pay it forward
Hope for the best
Karma will reward you

Say your prayers
Count your blessings
This life is yours –
And it’s yours for the taking!

Rollercoaster

My highs are so high
My lows are too low
Fighting my way to the middle
Where I can find normal.
